In case you haven't been paying attention within the last year or two, the 80's is definitely back and coming with a vengeance.
From the bright colors, plaids, prints, skinny jeans, square framed eyeglasses, and members-only jackets this time travel has definitely fueled the revenues of H&M and Forever 21 or at least made people watching a lot more interesting.
Speaking of people watching, while having a meal at a North side diner, I noticed this young guy walk in with disheveled dark hair stuffed underneath a ball cap with a vest overtop a plain white t-shirt, cowboy scarf, and skinny jeans with Ed Hardys on his feet.
As I scan him once over I start to wonder whether or not these jeans are going to be the reason why his doctor tells him ten years from now that he is unable to have children. I mean the skinny jean is getting so extreme that they almost need to come with warning labels, "WARNING: May cause infertility".
Nowadays men are unnecessarily displaying their areas which I thought were deemed private. Guys please don't put yourself on display like that! It's really nauseating. If the pants don't fit... you must quit.
Now for Tights, Tights, Tights! Yes, I love them and they can accessorize any outfit and bring lots of spice to your wardrobe.
But, know what you are getting into. First, DO NOT wear see-through stockings and think that you have on tights. See-through means WE CAN SEE YOU so stop flashing the world with your faux pas.
Additionally, just because tights are in doesn't mean that you need to be in tights. I don't know why but it seems as if it's always the pear-shaped women who feel the need to accentuate their curves and show everyone how the Lord has endowed them in the hips and gluteus maximus department.
I saw one lady parade proudly down the corridor of the movie theater as if she was stomping the runways of Milan showing off her leopard short waist coat and painted-on couture orange stretch pants that left nothing to the imagination including a distinct indentation in the front also known as the "camel toe".
I am not against shapelier women; beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and I'm a firm believer of loving the skin that you are in. But get to know your body type and make the best decision for you.
Until next post love the skin you're in!
